1124/2024 Missing Person

Early on the morning of 7th September, the Service was requested to assist Jersey Police and the Air Rescue Drone Team in the search for a missing person, beleived to be on Jersey's south coast.
Taking off at 0135 hrs, Lions' Pride started a search along the shoreline, from St Aubin to La Rocque.
Using the infra-red camera, several people were observed in the search area, such as in the image below which shows the Police speaking to two people after being directed to their location by the Crew.
At just over half a nautical mile away and an altitude of 1,000ft, the image demonstrates how effective the camera is at showing heat sources from people.
Lions' Pride was stood down at 0305 hrs after the person was located safe and well.
