09/2015 - Overdue vessel, Cap de la Hague

The Channel Islands Air Search aircraft, call sign Air Search One, was called out at 18.28 hrs on 28th December 2015 by Cross Jobourg Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre to search for an overdue vessel with two persons on board, reportedly north of Cap de la Hague.

Prior to getting airborne, at 18.45 hrs, the Service was stood down by Cross Jobourg, following confirmation that the vessel was safe in port.

An Air Search crew member said "Although the Service didn't get airborne on this occasion, the crew members were all relieved to hear that the vessel and its crew were safe and well.  We would always much rather be called out and be stood down."
