The Channel Islands Air Search aircraft, call sign Air Search One, was called out by Guernsey Coastguard at 4.55 p.m. on 4th May 2016 to search for a person sighted in the water one mile south of Pleinmont Point.

The aircraft took off at 5.25 p.m. and proceeded to the search area, arriving at 5.27 p.m.

An Air Search crew member said "A comprehensive search of the area around the reported last known position was conducted loking for a person sighted in the water wearing an orange life vest.  The area was thoroughly searched from Lihou Island through to St. Martin's Point and out to four miles to the west of the Hanois Lighthouse.  No sightings were made during the search."

The aircraft landed at Guernsey at 6.55 p.m., having been airborne for one hour and 30 minutes, and searched an area of approximately 12 square miles.
